Music is considered a liberal art because,\u00a0since the Middle Ages, it has been grouped with the quadrivium\u2014the four subjects of measurement\u2014as essential knowledge for a “free person” to make informed decisions and live a virtuous life.
Beyond technical skill, studying music as a liberal art aims to cultivate a more inquisitive, reflective, and morally aware individual by exploring its mathematical foundations, its poetic and emotional power, and its deep connection to the human soul.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
